Abstract
Methods:We retrospectively collected demographic, clinical data of all patients attended
emergency department having canalicular tear and repaired with or without bicanalicular
intubation between 2010-2023 results were evaluated. Demographic and clinical Data collected in
pretested format and statistical analyses done using SPSS22.
Results:A total of 43 patients studied for lid laceration with median age 27 y and median follow up
44 days.46% were from paediatric age group and 19% were toddlers (0-6) Male preponderence
79.1%, cattle horn 18.6% Blouse hook responsible in 19% toddlers. 24(57.1%) underwent lid repair
with canalicular intubation 18(42.8%) Canalicular repair. Considering pain, Discharge and watering
we found significant difference with bicanalicular intubation.
Conclusion: Bicanalicular intubation has significantly better outcome in case of canalicular injuries.
