Abstract
CASE REPORT
ICE syndrome is a rare eye condition that predominantly affects young females unilaterally. It includes Essential iris atrophy, Chandlers syndrome, and Cogan reese syndrome. Glaucoma is prevalent in 46-82% of cases, accompanied by iridocorneal adhesions. The male to female ratio ranges from 1:2 to 1:5.
A 10-year old male child presented with complaints of unable to see blackboard, photophobia and watering for 3 years.
Visual Acuity:(RE): CF 2m; (LE): HM+
A/S:RE: Corneal opacity, corectopia, irregular pupil, PAS 5-12 o'clock, iris atrophy, clear lens with phacodonesis
LE: Slanting upper eyelid laterally, corneal opacity, corectopia, irregular pupil, ectropion uvea, polychoria, iris atrophy, clear lens with phacodonesis
Gonioscopy: Broad anterior synechiae in all quadrants
IOP(mmhg): RE-42;LE-2
Fundus: RE-0.9 CDR, concentric NRR thinning, bayonet sign; LE-Hazy multiple vitreous folds
B-scan: RE-Echofree vitreous, RCS complex; LE-Total RD, choroid detachment superotemporally
