Abstract

A 68 year old female presented in our OPD with mild pain, redness, foreign body sensation, discomfort in right eye for last 15 days. She has taken treatment from other eye care centre but her symptoms didn't subside. She had history of pulmonary tuberculosis infection 5 years ago for which she completed the ATT regime. On ocular examination, the visual acuity was 6/18 unaided with pin hole 6/9. The slit lamp examination showed crescent shaped corneal ulcer peripherally on the nasal side of the right eye with conjunctival ingestion and it was stain positive. Anterior segment OCT showed 50% corneal thinning and Montaux test was found to be strongly positive. The posterior segment was within normal limit. The patient was treated with debridement and cyanoacrylate glue with application of bandage contact lens under topical anaesthesia. On discharge, eye drop moxifloxacin 0.5%, artificial tear substitute and D-Panthenol ophthalmic gel was advised. The patient is on follow up.
