Abstract
Purpose : To study the pattern of clinical presentations of patients of ocular trauma with retained intraocular foreign body.
Study design : :This was a retrospective observational study performed at RIO , IGIMS , Patna , of patients of ocular trauma with retained intraocular foreign bodies who presented to RIO, IGIMS, Patna over a period of 6 month
Synopsis: 16 different cases of retained intraocular foreign bodiespresented to RIO,their clinical presentations, mode and time of injury , their management and prognosis.
Out of 16 cases,2 conjuctival granuloma, 3 entry wound with orbital floor fracture,3 lid laceration, 3 endophthalmitis, 1chronic discharging sinus, 3corneal injury,1firecracker injury.14 patients male and 2 female.Average age 10-40.Mechanism of injury Hammering, bullet injury,firecracker injury, injury from vegetative material, physical assault. Different Foreign bodies were listed as : 4wooden,4 iron,2vegetative material,1bullet, 1plastic,1glass particle
