Abstract
Purpose/background: An astrocytoma is benign, glial tumour of retinal nerve fiber layer that arises from retinal astrocytes.
Methods :Data [ clinical features,MRI brain,fundoscopy examination , OCT ] from a patient with resistant complex partial seizures diagnosed to have tuberous sclerosis is presented
Case summary: A 13 year old female child presented with loss of balance and unable to walk , and known case of resistant complex partial seizures since 8 months of age . MRI brain reveals cortical tuberus ,subependymal nodules in bilateral cerebral hemispheres. Fundoscopy reveals circumscribed mass of 1 disc diameter present at superior aspect of optic disc.
Conclusion : patient with resistant complex seizures with tuberous sclerosis having astrocytoma with gliosis in fundus
