Abstract
Purpose: Serpiginous Chorioretinopathy is a rare inflammatory disorder affecting the retina and choroid with uncertain etiology and poorly understood risk factors.
Methods: Data (clinical feature, optical coherence tomography, fundus fluorescein angiography) is presented for the diagnosis of serpiginous chorioretinopathy in both eyes.
Results: A 42 year old male patient presented with progressive vision loss over 1 year. Fundus revealed greyish white serpentine lesions at the periphery of the retina. OCT showed subretinal fluid and disruption of outer retinal layers. Irregular hyper fluorescence with window defects observed on fluorescein angiography revealed serpiginous chorioretinopathy.
Conclusion : This patient showed a favorable response to systemic corticosteroids ,leading to improvement in visual acuity and resolution of chorioretinal lesions . Regular follow up and monitoring is essential for prevention of relapse.
