Abstract

A 7 year old male child presented with painless swelling in the right
upper eyelid for 6 months. It was sudden in onset leading to rapidly
progressive proptosis of the right eye. On examination, the visual acuity
in the right eye was 6/18. The swelling was firm and globular. The
palpebral conjunctiva was hyperemic. We did frozen section biopsy,
histopathological examination and immunohistochemistry.
Histopathological examination showed features of Small Blue Round
Cell (SRBC) tumour. Immunohistochemistry showed positive Vimentin,
Desmin and Myogenin markers favouring Rhabdomyosarcoma, alveolar
type. After proper counselling, the patient was advised for
Chemoradiotherapy .
