Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Papilledema is optic disc swelling due to high intracranial pressure. Axoplasmic flow disturbance leads to intraneural ischemia then optic nerve damage and subsequent visual impairement.
Case report: A 45year old female patient came to our hospital with severe headache since 2 months and increased since last two days, also had blurring of vision since 8 days on examination patient was irritable and having vision of 6/9 in RE and 6/9p in LE and colour vision defective in both eye. On fundus examination shows grade 2 Papilledema.
In OCT ONH examination shows edematous disc in both eye and Patient was not cooperative for HFA test. contrast MRI brain shows Large extra-axial lesion noted in right parieto-occipital region causing mass effect and midline shift towards left by 8.0 mm. Vertical kinking of both optic nerve with increased subarachnoid space.
Patient referred to neurosurgeon for further management and waiting for the histopathology report.
