Abstract

A young male in his twenties presented with blurring of vision in his left eye for the last 10 days. LE vision was 20/400. His RE was prosthetic. LE showed microcornea, iris coloboma, uveal coloboma involving disc and macula with a rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. No primary retinal break was identified but there was a suspected break in the intercalary membrane (ICM).
He underwent lens-sparing vitrectomy with PVD induction. The edges of coloboma were lasered sparing the area near disc and arcade. The subretinal fluid was drained through the break in the ICM. The break in the ICM was sealed using fibrin glue after fluid air exchange. The retina was settled and silicon oil was injected. Post operative day 1, his vision was stable, his retina was attached with fibrin glue coagulum noted within the coloboma.

This case highlights use of fibrin glue to aid in coloboma associated RD with breaks in ICM.
Will demonstrate how to use the glue in such cases.
